Manny Longelo in action for Birmingham City

Loan Watch: Masuaku, Longelo and Trott secure wins

Seven West Ham United loanees were in action over another packed weekend schedule of fixtures.

Manny Longelo helped Birmingham City to an impressive 3-0 win over Bristol City in his home debut for the Blues.

The versatile full-back is with the EFL Championship side on loan for the season and made his first outing at St. Andrew’s on Saturday, as the Blues put three past the Robins.

Operating as the left wing-back, the 21-year-old put in a strong showing on his first home performance as Birmingham City stormed into a first-half lead through Auston Trusty’s double.

Dion Sanderson wrapped up the three points with the third goal on 75 minutes, moving Birmingham City up to 14th in the table.

Two other loaned Hammers were involved from the start as their respective side claimed wins this past weekend.

Arthur Masuaku in action for Besiktas

Arthur Masuaku continued his run in the Beşiktaş J.K. starting XI, with Tayyib Talha Sanuc’s first-half strike earning the side a 1-0 win away to Giresunspor.

The DR Congo international has established himself as a regular starter in the Beşiktaş side this season, playing the full 90 minutes in all but one of their nine Super Lig outings.

In Denmark, Nathan Trott kept another clean-sheet for Vejle BK as the First Division side secured a 1-0 home win over FC Helsingør.

Mouhamadou Drammeh’s finish on 40 minutes proved the difference between the two sides, with Academy graduate Trott keeping his second clean-sheet in three league outings.

Croatian international Nikola Vlašić was the only other starter among the Hammers loanees over the weekend, with the playmaker featuring in the full 90 minutes in Torino’s 1-1 draw with Empoli.

Nikola Vlasic

Mattia Destro had given the visitors the advantage early in the second half, but Torino secured a late leveller thanks to Saša Lukić’s finish on 90 minutes.

Vlašić and his Torino teammates sit 10th in Serie A with eleven points from nine games played.

Finally, a trio of Academy stars made showings from the bench in the EFL for their respective loan clubs.

Armstrong Okoflex was a late substitute for Swansea City as the Swans claimed a 2-1 win at home to Sunderland in the Championship, while Mipo Odubeko was also introduced late as Port Vale beat Derby County 2-1 away in League One.

Thierry Nevers and Newport County were defeated 1-0 home by Rochdale, with the Frenchman subbed on in the second half.
