Iron Cast | James Ward-Prowse on joining West Ham, life in London and set-piece skill

James Ward-Prowse is the latest guest to appear on the official West Ham United podcast, Iron Cast! 

The midfielder moved to east London from Southampton in the summer and has made a flying start to life with the Irons, registering nine goal involvements in 14 matches in Claret and Blue so far. 

The 29-year-old is fast becoming a fan favourite at London Stadium and Ward-Prowse sits down with Iron Cast co-hosts Chris Scull and James Collins to discuss his first few months at West Ham United.

The No7 makes his second appearance on the podcast, having spoken to Iron Cast after signing from the Saints, and reflects on his efforts for the Irons so far.

Ward-Prowse talks about progressing in the Carabao Cup, with a trip to Liverpool in the quarter-finals to come, and how he has settled quickly into the squad at West Ham and into life around London.

The midfielder is renowned for his set-piece ability and Ward-Prowse opens up on the pressure he feels around taking free-kicks, with the Englishman just one away from equalling David Beckham’s record of 18 in the Premier League.

Ward-Prowse also talks about his teammates, including fellow new signing Mohammed Kudus and his own fine start to life in the English game with the Hammers.

Having made such a blistering start to life with the Irons, Ward-Prowse gives his thoughts on a potential return to the England squad and his hopes for the rest of the season.
