West Ham United women’s team defender Shelina Zadorsky was amongst the goals as her Canada side eased past Haiti 4-1 in a friendly in Winnipeg.
A cultured left-footed volley from our No14 at the back post added the home side’s third of the evening five minutes after half-time, her eighth goal for her country, which followed an early brace from Adriana Leon.
Haiti striker Batcheba Louis pulled a goal back for the visitors just two minutes after Zadorsky’s strike, but Canada, who won the Pinatar Cup in February, notched a fourth courtesy of a 90th-minute goal from Liverpool’s Olivia Smith.
Zadorsky will look to help her side to another victory over Haiti when they meet again, this time at Saputo Stadium in Montreal, on Wednesday 4 June (kick-off 12.30am BST).
