Two West Ham United players went head-to-head in international action on Saturday night, as Edson Álvarez's Maxico met Mohammed Kudus' Ghana in a friendly.
It was Álvarez who was able to claim the bragging rights as Mexico won 2-0 at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.
Both Hammers started the contest across the Atlantic, and the match was finely poised at the break, with neither side being able to force a breakthrough.
But Mexico seized control in the second half, first establishing a 57th minute lead through PSV Eindhoven winger Hirving Lozano.
A second, scored 15 minutes later by fellow winger Uriel Antuna, made sure of victory for El Tri.
Mexico play another friendly on Tuesday, against Germany in Philadelphia. while Ghana face the United States on the same day in Nashville.
