Inside Training | Hard work begins in the New Jersey sunshine

The hard work started in perfect conditions on Thursday as West Ham United continue to gear up for their Premier League Summer Series opener against Manchester United in New Jersey on Saturday evening (7pm EDT).

The Hammers are in the USA for an exciting 12-day, three-match and three-city trip that will see them face off against the Red Devils, Everton and AFC Bournemouth, and step up their preparations for the 2025/26 campaign.

Boss Graham Potter and his players were the guests of the Scarlet Knights at Rutgers University as they hit the training pitches for the first time since touching down across the pond, emblazoned in sunshine and with temperatures hovering around 80F (26C).

Fitness coaches Jordan Smith and Callum Foster first led the players through their activation and warm-up drills, and goalkeeper coaches Casper Ankergren and Linus Kandolin worked with their four stoppers, before Potter and coaches Billy Reid, Bruno and Narcís Pèlach took the whole group for the second part of the session on the pitch.

The work was completed by a warm-down session indoors in the gym, where the players rode exercise bikes, before showering and heading back to the team hotel for a lunch and a well-earned rest and recovery.

The West Ham TV cameras were out and about capturing the best of the action, and you can view our Inside Training video by hitting play above!
