Graham Potter celebrates victory at Manchester United

Fantasy Premier League | Gameweek 37 hints and tips

With just two Gameweeks to play, FPL leagues will be won and lost between now and the season’s end!

Picking West Ham United players - and manager Graham Potter - could be the difference between celebrating or commiserating, with the Hammers hosting Nottingham Forest on Sunday 18 May at 2.15pm BST and travelling to Ipswich Town on Sunday 25 May at 4pm BST in their final two Gameweeks.

Seventh-place Forest have had an impressive season, and have already secured European qualification, but have won just one of their previous six Premier League matches, failing to keep a clean sheet in any of them, and are winless in their last three.

Therefore, FPL managers may see selecting Hammers as a means of solidifying or improving their team’s position in their respective leagues.

The transfer deadline for Gameweek 37 is 6pm BST on Friday 16 May, so don’t delay, get those Irons into your squads now!

Bowen finishing strongly

Just 12.7% of FPL managers are currently benefiting from the presence of Jarrod Bowen (MID, £7.7m) in their squads.

Few players are in better form than West Ham’s captain, who has amassed 36 FPL points across his previous four Premier League appearances, having scored against Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United and registered two assists at Brighton & Hove Albion.

Bowen is now just ten points short of matching last season’s FPL total of 182 points, but will need to score back-to-back hat-tricks to have any chance of breaking his all-time record of 206 achieved in 2021/22.

While that is unlikely, Bowen putting in another positive FPL performance at home to Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon is definitely not!

Appoint Graham Potter as your Assistant Manager!

You could also be rewarded if you saved your Assistant Manager chip for the end of the season and picked Graham Potter (MNG, £0.5m) for the final three games of 2024/25.

Nearly 450,000 managers activated their chip in Gameweeks 35 or 36 and would have benefited from Potter (ten points) leading West Ham to a 2-0 win at Manchester United. If you have activated your chip but not selected Potter, but want him for Gameweek 37, it will cost a transfer in exactly the same way as players.

The Assistant Manager chip earn points based on your chosen real-life boss’s performance, including a win (six points) or a draw (three points), scoring a goal (one point) or keeping a clean sheet (two points).

In addition, they earn bonus points for beating (ten points) or drawing (five points) with a team ranked at least five places higher in the Premier League table at the start of the Gameweek, so Potter could earn you big points if West Ham defeat Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

Morgan Gibbs-White and Chris Wood celebrate

Opposition Watch: Nottingham Forest

Ranked fifth in total FPL points (196) is the seemingly ageless Chris Wood (FWD, £7.2m). The 33-year-old has scored 20 goals and registered three assists on the way to by far the best FPL season in his career.

Wood registered between 131 and 138 FPL points four times in six seasons between 2018/19 and 2023/24, but 2024/25 has seen the New Zealand international take his output to another level. He has eight goals and two assists in 13 Premier League appearances against West Ham.

After a five-match run of registering two or less FPL points, Morgan Gibbs-White (MID, £6.4m) returned to form with a 13-point explosion in the 2-2 home draw with Leicester City last weekend, when he scored one of Forest’s goals and assisted the other.

The 25-year-old has been a consistent real-life and FPL performer since joining Forest three years ago, scoring 145 points in 2022/23, 142 last season and 141 so far this.
