On This Day: Hammers run riot at Huddersfield

Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, presented by Heineken...

West Ham United produced a devastating second half performance to see off the challenge of Huddersfield Town at John Smith’s Stadium, on this day in 2018.

David Moyes’ side took the lead midway through the first half when Mark Noble pounced on an error by home goalkeeper Jonas Lossl to put the Irons in front.

An admittedly brilliant Joe Lolley goal brought Huddersfield level just before half-time, but Marko Arnautović inspired a devastating 16-minute spell after the break, scoring seconds after the restart with a clinical strike.

The Austrian’s clever running then set up a brace for Manuel Lanzini, whose cool finishes ensured the three points were destined to travel back to east London.
