Coufal: Fulham is the perfect preparation for Premier League restart

West Ham United want to keep building momentum in their final mid-season warm-up match, says Vladimír Coufal.

The Hammers will conclude a set of three mid-season friendlies ahead of the resumption of their 2022/23 Premier League campaign when they head to Fulham on Saturday 17 December for a 1pm kick-off.

In October, David Moyes’ men won the league meeting against the Cottagers 3-1, with Jarrod Bowen, Gianluca Scamacca and Michail Antonio all on target at London Stadium, and will now face Marco Silva's side again as the build-up to the restart of the English top-flight intensifies.

Coufal against Udinese

Since the break, West Ham have started to build confidence in recent weeks, having beaten EFL League One outfit Cambridge United 4-2 and defeated Serie A side Udinese 3-1 in Italy.

And so when the Irons head to Craven Cottage, the Czech Republic full-back is targeting a third friendly win on the bounce, having taken some time to refresh in his homeland during the first part of the mid-season break.

“I’ve been back in Prague with my family and it was perfect,” Coufal said. “I enjoyed every moment with my family and my kids. We had a good time.

“Since we have been back, we’ve played two friendly games so far. Yes, they are just friendly games, but every victory still gives us confidence.

“Saturday will be our third game since the break (for the World Cup), so we are trying to build momentum - we are looking for a third win against Fulham.”

Kick-off against Fulham is at 1pm, and you will be able to follow live coverage and also get all your reaction after the final whistle on whufc.com and our official app.

If you want to cheer Coufal and company on in person, tickets are available to buy now here, priced at £20 for Adults, £10 for Over-65s and Under-21s, and £1 for Under-18s.

Following Saturday's trip to Craven Cottage, West Ham will resume the 2022/23 Premier League campaign at Arsenal on 26 December, and then host Brentford at London Stadium four days later.

Tickets for the visit to Boxing Day visit to Emirates Stadium are sold out, but seats for the visit of the Bees in our final game of 2022 are available here via the Ticket Exchange.
