Backstory - Manuel Lanzini
It is six years to the day since Manuel Lanzini arrived at West Ham United, initially joining on loan from Emirati side Al Jazira Club.
Since then, the diminutive midfielder has enjoyed great highs, including a sensational first season in 2015/16 and scoring some unforgettable goals, including his last-gasp equaliser at Tottenham Hotspur this past season, and endured devastating lows, including missing two major tournaments with Argentina through injury.
Now 28, the talented South American has made more than 150 appearances in Claret and Blue and is a popular figure among West Ham supporters.
But today we are concentrating on Lanzini's formative years in his homeland, where he joined Buenos Aires giants River Plate and became a household name, before embarking on a footballing journey of discovery with Brazilian club Fluminense, all while still a teenager.
