Cook a healthy flatbread pizza! - Your #HammersAtHome daily challenge

For Tuesday's #HammersAtHome daily challenge, West Ham United's first-team sports nutritionist Matt Jones wants you to cook up a storm in your kitchens!

Matt, whose role sees him research and provide healthy menus for David Moyes' squad, wants you to make a healthy pizza flatbread by following his own recipe!

"During this postponement period, when the players are training on their own back at home, we're challenging them to eat as many fruit and vegetables as they can to be as healthy as possible," Matt explained.

"I'm going to show you a quick recipe that we have shared with them. It's flatbread pizza, so obviously we have the flatbread as the base, but you can use pitta bread or a tortilla wrap if you like.

"You layer on some tomato puree and then you choose any topping you like. Just layer it on the top. You just throw that in the oven for ten to 15 minutes and it comes out exactly like a pizza, but a healthier version, and probably just as tasty!

"I want to see your best efforts, so send them through to us and we'll choose a winner and there is a prize on offer, so good luck!"

Keep an eye out for our daily #HammersAtHome challenges, which will be announced on whufc.com and the Club’s social media channels at 11am each and every weekday in term time. They could be physical football or other sports-related exercises, or creative literacy or numeracy-based tasks, or something completely different!

The daily challenges form part of #HammersAtHome – a new online community initiative offering support, assistance and regular interaction with the Club’s fans during this uniquely challenging and unprecedented time.

With the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak meaning many children are now at home, we want our #HammersAtHome challenges to act as a motivation for schoolwork and rewarding youngsters’ efforts so keep an eye out every morning and, who knows, you could win a Claret and Blue reward!
