On This Day: Carlton Cole marks West Ham debut with goal in Charlton win

Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, in association with RoadX Tyres...

Carlton Cole made the perfect start to his West Ham United career, scoring on his Hammers debut against Charlton Athletic at the Boleyn Ground on this day in 2006.

The striker rounded off a 3-1 Premier League victory with a final-minute strike, after Bobby Zamora had earlier netted a brace.

Cole would go on to score 68 goals in 293 appearances in Claret and Blue, including a memorable strike in the 2012 Play-Off final victory over Blackpool at Wembley.

You can enjoy his first goal for the Irons again right here!
