On This Day: Billy Bonds' Hammers score 3-1 win at West Brom

Goals from Ian Bishop, Kevin Keen and Jimmy Quinn secured West Ham United a 3-1 Second Division win at West Bromwich Albion on this day in 1990.

Billy Bonds' side took the lead at The Hawthorns when Quinn's free-kick was deflected past goalkeeper Stuart Naylor on six minutes, before Bishop doubled the Hammers' advantage on 28.

Don Goodman halved the Baggies' deficit on the half-hour mark, but Keen made the points safe for the Irons midway through the second half.

A crowd of just 11,556 was evidence of West Brom's struggles, as the Brian Talbot's side finished the 1989/90 just three points and two places above the relegation zone.

West Ham went into the game tenth, but this win and a strong finish to the campaign saw Bonds' side rally to finish seventh, two points and one place outside the Play-Offs.
