Fornals: I'm ready to attack the rest of this season
Pablo Fornals is ready to attack the second half of the 2019/20 season after scoring his first Premier League goal in Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Leicester City.
The Spanish midfielder finished from Felipe Anderson's low cross to notch for the first time at London Stadium and add to his three assists in his previous five outings.
It represents the best run of form since Fornals' summer move from Villarreal and points to a bright 2020 for the 23-year-old.
First and foremost, however, he is focused on helping the team rise from their current situation.
"I've had five, six matches playing better than at the start now," he said, "I'm feeling good, I'm feeling confident and I want the same as my teammates - to help the team to move up the table.
"When I speak with my family in Spain, I'm telling them that now I'm enjoying [playing in] this league. This is the best league in the world and I'm blessed to play here.
"But we were disappointed on Saturday because I think we cannot lose this kind of game. We are not in our best moment, but we will train hard and keep going to try to reverse this situation.
"In this moment every game is important for us. We need to play as a team and keep going."
