Sead Haksabanovic has joined Segunda División side Malaga on a season-long loan.

The Montenegro international moves to La Rosaleda for a campaign in the Spanish second tier.

The 19-year-old joined West Ham last summer from Halmstads BK, and made his debut for the senior side in the Carabao Cup clash with Bolton Wanderers, starting the contest.

Haksabanovic also made a substitute appearance versus Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup.

At U23s level the midfielder played 14 times in the 2017/18 season, and now Haksabanovic will spend a season with Malaga in his first loan spell away from the Irons.

Under the guidance of manager Juan Muniz, Malaga will be looking to return to La Liga at the first attempt, after ten consecutive campaigns in the top flight came to an end in May.

West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini previously worked with Malaga, taking the Spanish team to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
