Cheikhou Kouyate departs

West Ham United can confirm that Cheikhou Kouyate has joined Crystal Palace on a permanent contract for an undisclosed fee.

The Senegal international leaves the Hammers having made 147 appearances and scored 15 goals across four seasons.

The midfielder joined from Belgian club Anderlecht in summer 2014 and was part of the side which qualified for European football in both 2015 and 2016.

The 28-year-old will always hold a special place in Claret and Blue history as the man who scored the first goal at London Stadium in the UEFA Europa League qualifying round win over NK Domzale in July 2016.

West Ham United would like to thank Cheikhou for his contribution to the club and wish him well for his future career.
