Betway betting preview - Hammers 9/5 to win

With eleven matches remaining in the Premier League season, West Ham United will be looking for a strong finish to the campaign. And while there remains an outside shot of snatching a European place, for Hammers’ boss Slaven Bilic, the current objective is clear.

“First, we have to secure our Premier League status,” he said in his pre-match press conference. “There is still a big job to do and, as I’ve said before, we approach every game and try to win it and see where it’s going to bring us.”

The Irons have the perfect opportunity to do just that on Saturday against a Bournemouth side that have gone eight Premier League matches without a win – a run that stretches back to the end of December.

Nevertheless, it is the Cherries who are slight favourites at 8/5, with West Ham surprisingly priced at 9/5. The draw is currently 23/10.

West Ham already boast a victory over Bournemouth this season, when Michail Antonio scored the only goal of the game in August’s 1-0 win at the London Stadium.

It’s 9/1 that the Hammers can repeat that scoreline, while a scorecast on Antonio to score and West Ham to win 1-0 is currently 50/1.

In this corresponding fixture last year, the Hammers took three points with a convincing 3-1 win – a result that is 18/1 on Betway’s ‘Correct Score’ market.

While attacking prowess doesn’t appear to be a problem for either side, defensive solidity remains an issue, so expect goals. Both teams to score is currently priced at 11/20, while there looks to be value in a West Ham win with both teams finding the net at 15/4.

An Irons victory with over 2.5 total goals also looks appealing at 3/1.

One huge positive is Bilic’s expectation to name a strong team for the trip to the south coast. Andy Carroll, Robert Snodgrass and Jose Fonte have all recovered from minor knocks, while Antonio is once again available for selection having served his suspension.

The West Ham No30 is raring to add to his eight league goals, and he’s 11/4 to score at any time, while you can get him at 6/1 to open the scoring on Saturday.

Another man looking to get back among the goals is target man Carroll. His last goal came at the start of February in the Hammers’ victory over Southampton, and he’ll certainly fancy his chances against a Bournemouth defence that has shipped 21 league goals in 2017.

Carroll is 3/1 to be West Ham’s first goalscorer this weekend and 11/8 to find the net at anytime. Those expecting Carroll to have an even greater influence can back him at 7/1 to score two or more goals.
