Liverpool betting preview with Betway

This weekend kick starts a busy seven days for West Ham United that could prove hugely important come the end of the season.

The Hammers have three matches in quick succession, starting with Sunday’s trip to Merseyside to face high-flying Liverpool.

The Reds currently sit third in the Premier League, but were stunned last time out, losing 4-3 to Bournemouth in one of the games of the season.

Nevertheless, their strong recent run means Liverpool are favourites at 30/100 to win, with West Ham priced at 9/1. The draw is 5/1.

While the Irons too come into this fixture off the back of a difficult result last weekend, a strong recent history against Liverpool should give Slaven Bilić’s men confidence.

West Ham won three of their four clashes with the Merseysiders last season, drawing the other, with the 3-0 victory at Anfield arguably the highlight.

The Hammers are 100/1 to repeat that feat, with Manuel Lanzini 4/1 and Mark Noble 13/2 to each get on the score sheet at any time once again.

One positive from last weekend was the return to action of Andy Carroll. The England international scored within ten minutes of coming on against Arsenal, and he’ll certainly be looking to add to that against his former club on Sunday.

Carroll is 8/1 to open the scoring against Liverpool and 11/4 to find the net at any time. You can also get him at 5/1 to specifically be West Ham’s first goalscorer.

He isn’t the only player preparing to face his former side this weekend. Alvaro Arbeloa returns to a stadium where he spent three years of his career before moving to Real Madrid.

The Spaniard has made four appearances this season and could feature in a defence that also welcomes back Aaron Cresswell from injury.

Although Liverpool have been one of the more entertaining sides this season, they continue to look very susceptible at the back.

There looks to be good value in Both Teams to Score at 8/11, while West Ham to win and both sides to find the net is currently priced at 14/1.

Over the past two seasons, there have been 14 goals scored in matches between the two, so goals could be on the menu once again.

It’s currently 4/9 that there will be Over 2.5 goals, with Under 2.5 goals priced at 7/4. Betway’s ‘Goal in Both Halves’ market is 2/5.

So far this season, West Ham have had a clean sheet at half-time on 12 occasions. They’re 15/8 to do so again on Sunday.
