Michail Antonio has been named in Jamaica’s 26-man squad for the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
The West Ham United forward has been working hard with the Club’s medical team to return to full fitness following a serious road traffic accident in December 2024.
Antonio has now been included in Steve McClaren’s Reggae Boyz squad for the continental tournament for men’s senior national teams from North America, Central America and the Caribbean.
The 35-year-old has 21 caps and five goals for his country since debuting against Panama in September 2021, and helped Jamaica reach the semi-finals of the 2023 Gold Cup. In June 2024, he scored Jamaica's first ever goal in a Copa América tournament, against Ecuador.
The 2025 Gold Cup will be hosted by the United States and Canada between 14 June and 6 July, and Jamaica have been drawn in Group C alongside Panama, Guatemala and Guadeloupe.
McClaren’s team kick-off their campaign against Guatemala at Dignity Health Sports Park in Los Angeles, California, on Monday 16 June at 7pm local time, before taking on Guadeloupe at PayPal Park in San Jose, California, on Friday 20 June at 4.45pm local time.
Jamaica’s third group-stage fixture will be against Panama at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas, on Tuesday 24 June at 6pm local time.
Panama are the highest-ranked nation in Group D at 33 in the FIFA World Rankings, with Jamaica at 63, Guatemala at 106. As a French overseas department, Guadeloupe is not a member of FIFA, so do not have a ranking.
A total of 16 nations will battle for the CONCACAF Gold Cup trophy, including the two host nations, Edson Álvarez’s Mexico and guest participants Saudi Arabia.
The tournament will be broadcast live in the UK by Premier Sports.
