Tarima was born in Newham and grew up around Romford, joining the Hammers as a nine-year-old after a spell with popular Sunday side Euro Dagenham.

The defender continued to impress for the U18s in the following season, despite returning from a long-term injury, making 22 appearances for the side across all competitions, helping Kevin Keen’s side to claim the U18 Premier League South division trophy and the FA Youth Cup.

Tarima also made his U21s debut, coming on as a substitute in the Premier League International Cup victory over Feyenoord in 2022.
