Hammers support Anti-Bullying Week

As part of the Club’s work to support Anti-Bullying Week, we have been talking to West Ham United fans who have experienced bullying first-hand.

West Ham TV spoke to three supporters, who have bravely told us their experiences of being bullied, how it affected them and how it still affects them to this day.

They also send an important message to those suffering something similar, with advice on how to cope.

You can watch the interviews with Max, Sanjay and Trevor via the video player above.

I am at University now; with an amazing group of friends and people I care about. These are all things I did not think would be possible.

WHAT IS ANTI-BULLYING WEEK?

Anti-Bullying Week 2022 will take place from Monday 14 to Friday 18 November.

The week started with Odd Socks Day, where adults and children wear odd socks to celebrate what makes us all unique.

This year’s theme - Reach Out - was decided by teachers and pupils, who were spoken to by the Anti-Bullying Alliance, which runs Anti-Bullying Week.

The theme has been chosen as it promotes doing something positive in response to the harm and hurt that bullying causes.

In short, Anti-Bullying Week seeks to remind everyone whether it’s in school, at home, in the community or online, that we can reach out and show each other the support we need.
