Working across east London and Essex, WHUF provide full time Community Hub Officers who are based in partner secondary schools for the duration of the academic year. WHUF work closely with partner schools to identify a need to target and agree the scope of work and model of initiatives to be delivered within each partner school.
Themes of work currently being delivered are pastoral support, mentoring, Post 16 Education, girls football & sport. These partner schools also act as "HUBs" for WHUF with other activity taking place there in the evenings and during non-term time.
When it is running and where
Monday Friday 8am-4pm during the whole academic year at six different venues simultaneously. All delivery takes place in partner schools.
Who is it targeting
Secondary Schools who need support developing their curriculum, and young people aged 11-16.
Targeted young people include Pupil Premium pupils, pupils at risk of permanent exclusion, pupils apathetic towards their education, young people living unhealthy lives.
Why it will benefit them
Added value to curriculum for schools, and improved wellbeing, health, attendance & attainment, behaviour, and career pathways.
