Promoter: West Ham United Football Club Limited (company number 66516), whose registered office is at London Stadium, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London E20 2ST, referred to in these terms as the "Club", "Promoter", "we", "us" or "our".
About these terms
1. Match Predictor (the "Game") is a free-to-play prediction game in the official West Ham United app (the "App"). By playing, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not play.
2. No purchase or payment is needed to play or to win. You will need the App, a West Ham United account and an internet connection. We do not refund any costs of taking part, such as mobile data charges.
3. All dates and times in these terms are UK time.
Who can play
4. The Game is open to anyone who holds a West Ham United account. You must be logged in to your account in the App to play. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian to play.
5. To win a Prize you must, at the time the winner is selected, be aged 18 or over and must not live in an Excluded Market. The Excluded Markets are Italy, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, and the US states of Florida and New York and the District of Columbia. A Prize cannot be awarded where doing so would be unlawful in the country where the winner lives. If you are not eligible to win a Prize you can still play and appear on the leaderboards.
6. Employees of the Promoter, its group companies and agents, anyone professionally connected with the Game, and their immediate families, may play but are not eligible to win a Prize.
7. You must not use information about team selection that is not publicly available. Predictions made using that information are void.
8. You may hold one account only. Entries made through more than one account, by anyone other than the account holder, or by automated means are void.
9. The Promoter may check the details held on your West Ham United account and may ask for reasonable proof of age, identity or residence before awarding a Prize. If proof is not provided within 7 days of the request, the Promoter may select another winner.
Competitions and prizes
10. The Game runs two prize competitions (each a "Competition"):
(a) Monthly Competition: one for each calendar month in which at least one Eligible Fixture kicks off. The first runs from the time the predictor opens for the fixture against Queens Park Rangers, scheduled for Friday 9 October 2026, until 23:59 on 31 October 2026. Each later Monthly Competition runs from 00:00 on the first day of the month until 23:59 on the last day of that month. A fixture counts towards the month in which it kicks off. Prize: one £25 West Ham United Official Store e-voucher. One winner per month.
(b) Season Competition: runs from the time the predictor opens for the same Queens Park Rangers fixture until points are confirmed for the final Eligible Fixture of the 2026/27 season. Prize: one signed 2026/27 West Ham United shirt. One winner. (each a "Prize"). If the Queens Park Rangers fixture does not go ahead as scheduled, both Competitions start when the first predictor opens.
11. You can win more than one Monthly Competition, and you can win both a Monthly Competition and the Season Competition.
How to play
12. "Eligible Fixtures" are all competitive fixtures played by the West Ham United men's first team during the 2026/27 season. Friendlies are not Eligible Fixtures.
13. The Promoter aims to open a predictor for each Eligible Fixture, at a time it sets. More than one predictor may be open at the same time where fixtures are close together. The Promoter does not guarantee that a predictor will be available for every Eligible Fixture.
14. For each Eligible Fixture you may submit one set of predictions: (a) the final score; (b) the eleven players who will start the match for West Ham United; and (c) West Ham United's starting formation. The order and positions of the eleven players do not affect scoring.
15. You choose players and a formation from the lists shown in the App. The Promoter sets those lists. No points are awarded for a player or formation that is not on the list.
16. You may change your predictions as often as you like until 90 minutes before the scheduled kick-off (the "Closing Time"). The last predictions saved before the Closing Time count. If kick-off is rescheduled before the Closing Time has passed, the Closing Time moves with it. Once the Closing Time has passed, the predictor will not reopen if kick-off is delayed on the day.
17. Predictions made or changed after the Closing Time, or not made in line with these terms, are void.
18. On the leaderboards you will see your own first name and the first initial of your surname. Other players will see a randomly generated display name for you, and you will see randomly generated names for them. The Promoter may change or remove any display name.
Scoring
19. Points are awarded as set out in the Scoring Schedule at the end of these terms. The maximum available is 60 points per Eligible Fixture.
20. The final score is the score at the end of normal time, including stoppage time. Extra time and penalty shoot-outs do not count. The result (win, draw or loss) is judged on the same score.
21. The starting eleven are the players who start the match for West Ham United. A player named on the published team sheet who does not start the match does not count as a starter.
22. The starting formation is the formation in which West Ham United start the match.
23. The final score, starting eleven and starting formation are taken from data supplied by Opta, as recorded by the Promoter. The Promoter's record is final, and the Promoter will not enter into discussion about the data used to calculate points.
24. The Promoter aims to confirm points and update the leaderboards within 72 hours of full time. Confirmed points are final, except that the Promoter may correct an error at any time before the winner of the relevant Competition is notified.
25. If an Eligible Fixture is postponed, predictions for it are void and no points are awarded. A new predictor will open for the rearranged fixture, which counts towards the month in which it kicks off. If a fixture is abandoned, no points are awarded for it. If an abandoned fixture is replayed, a new predictor will open for the replay.
Winners
26. The winner of each Competition is the eligible player with the most points in that Competition. If two or more eligible players are tied on the most points, the winner will be chosen from those players at random, by a computer process that produces verifiably random results or under the supervision of an independent person.
27. If the highest-scoring player is not eligible to win, the Prize will pass to the next highest-scoring eligible player.
28. Winners will be selected within 14 days of the end of the relevant Competition and notified by email, using the address held on their West Ham United account. You are responsible for keeping that address up to date and for checking your junk folder.
29. If a winner cannot be contacted, or does not claim the Prize within 7 days of notification, the Promoter may withdraw the Prize from that winner and select a replacement winner in line with clauses 26 and 27.
30. E-voucher Prizes will be sent by email within 30 days. Physical Prizes will be sent by post within 60 days of the winner confirming their details.
Prize conditions
31. Each Prize is as stated, and no cash or other alternative will be offered. Prizes are not transferable and do not include anything not expressly set out in these terms.
32. The Promoter may substitute any Prize with another of equal or greater value.
33. Each Prize, and its use, is subject to any further terms notified by the Promoter or the Prize provider. E-vouchers are subject to the West Ham United Official Store terms and conditions at https://shop.whufc.com/page/termsandconditions. Each voucher will be valid for 6 months from issue.
34. The Promoter is not responsible for a Prize that is lost, delayed or damaged after it has been sent, where this is outside the Promoter's reasonable control. Winners are responsible for any taxes, customs duties or import charges that apply to a Prize in the country where they live.
Technical issues
35. We do not guarantee that the Game or the App will always be available, uninterrupted or free from errors.
36. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not responsible for any failure, error, delay or interruption affecting the Game, whatever its cause and whoever is at fault, and will not compensate you for lost points or a lost chance to win a Prize. This includes:
(a) problems with your device, software, internet connection or account access;
(b) predictions that fail to save, are saved late, or are lost, corrupted or recorded incorrectly;
(c) faults in the App, the Game, or the systems and data used to run them, whether operated by the Promoter, its developers, its data suppliers or any other third party;
(d) errors in points, leaderboards or display names; and
(e) notifications or Prize emails that are delayed or not received.
37. The Promoter's record of your predictions and points is the definitive record.
38. Where a technical problem, error or interference affects the fair running of the Game, the Promoter may take whatever steps it reasonably considers fair. These may include correcting points, voiding affected predictions, voiding an affected fixture for all players, or suspending, re-running or ending a Competition. If the points for a Competition cannot be relied on in full, the Promoter may award the Prize on the basis of the Eligible Fixtures that were not affected.
General
39. The Promoter may refuse entry to, void the entries of, remove from the leaderboards, or refuse to award a Prize to anyone in breach of these terms, including anyone the Promoter reasonably believes has cheated, used more than one account, used team information that is not publicly available, or tampered with the Game.
40. The Promoter may void, cancel, suspend or amend the Game, any Competition or these terms where this becomes necessary, including because of technical problems or circumstances beyond its reasonable control. Changes will be published in the App and will not unfairly disadvantage players who have already taken part. If a Competition ends early, its Prize will be awarded to the eligible player with the most points at that time.
41. The Promoter's decision on all matters relating to the Game is final, and no correspondence will be entered into. This does not affect your statutory rights.
42. By playing, you agree that if you win, the Promoter may (but is not obliged to) announce your first name, surname initial and display name on its websites, App and social media, and that you will consider reasonable requests to take part in publicity, including a Fan of the Month feature.
43. If you win, your surname and county of residence may be given to anyone who asks within one month of the end of the relevant Competition, where permitted by law. You may object to this, or ask for less information to be shared, by contacting the Promoter. The Promoter may still provide your information and entry to the Advertising Standards Authority or any other competent authority if required, for example to show that a Prize was awarded.
44. Your personal data will be used to run the Game, verify winners and deliver Prizes. It may be shared with technology suppliers who operate the Game on our behalf and with a fulfilment provider, for those purposes only. Playing does not sign you up to marketing; your marketing preferences are managed separately in your account. Your display name, points and leaderboard position will be visible to other players. Personal data is processed in line with our Privacy Policy at https://www.whufc.com/privacy-policy.
45. To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither the Promoter nor its group companies, partners, suppliers, agents, employees, officers or directors will be liable for any loss or damage arising from the Game, your participation in it, any interruption to or unavailability of the App, or the winning, use or enjoyment of any Prize. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited by law, and nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
46. The Game is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Apple or Google. Neither is a sponsor of the Game or involved in it in any way.
47. If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest of these terms will continue to apply.
48. These terms, and any dispute arising from the Game, are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live. If you live outside the United Kingdom, you keep any rights you have under the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
