About Us

The story of the Chilean Hammers doesn’t begin on a pitch or in the stands. It began with the curiosity of a Chilean fan, intrigued by a symbol proudly displayed on Steve Harris’s bass guitar - two crossed hammers. That emblem sparked a question that would change his life: where did it come from?

That’s how Jonathan Benavides discovered West Ham United. During the final days of the legendary Boleyn Ground, as the club was bidding farewell to its historic home, Jonathan was diving headfirst into its story. What he found wasn’t just a football club, it was a cause: a team forged in the shipyards of East London, built by working-class hands, and carried forward by the unwavering love of its people.

He fell in love with the claret and blue, with the club’s relentless spirit, its working-class roots, and its raw, authentic soul. And though he lived thousands of miles away, Jonathan knew his heart had found a new home.

In 2018, coinciding with Chilean manager Manuel Pellegrini taking charge at West Ham, he decided to bring a vision to life: to create a group in Chile that brought together those who shared the same passion. That’s how Chilean Hammers was born-not just a fan club, but a brotherhood.

Since then, the Chilean Hammers have proudly flown the crossed hammers across the country. United by their love for a club that stands for eternal values: loyalty, grit, pride, and belonging. Because being a Hammer isn’t about where you were born - it’s about what you carry in your heart.

"Once a Hammer, always a Hammer."
