Emma Snerle joined West Ham United in January 2022, the club's first signing of the transfer window.

The 20-year-old joined the Hammers from Fortuna Hjørring in her native Denmark, and signed a two-and-a-half year contract in east London.

Snerle has 22 caps for her country, having made her senior debut in 2019. Before breaking into the senior Denmark squad, she had made 36 appearances at U19, U17 and U16 level.

Since making her Hjørring first team debut in 2017, Snerle has made 68 starts, scoring 30 times.

Snerle also has UEFA Champions League experience, appearing three times in the competition last term, scoring once.

The midfielder slowly adapted to the Barclays Women's Super League, and ended the 2021/22 campaign having made 12 appearances in Claret & Blue.

Her first full season for the Hammers was disrupted by injury. After a brief return against Aston Villa in October, Snerle wouldn't feature again until January 2023 because of a recurring foot injury. From then on, the midfielder became a key part of Paul Konchesky's side and would feature 16 times, scoring goals against Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur as the season drew to a close.

Snerle was selected by Denmark for the upcoming 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in July.
