On This Day: Glenn Roeder's Hammers outclass Tottenham Hotspur

Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, in association with RoadX Tyres...

West Ham United gave their Premier League survival hopes a massive boost with a 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on this day in 2003.

Les Ferdinand's first goal in Claret and Blue, since his January transfer from Spurs, put Glenn Roeder's side well in control at half-time at a packed Boleyn Ground.

Shortly after the break the Hammers doubled their advantage, Michael Carrick reacted quickest to Kasey Keller's fumble, prodding his shot home to secure just the second home win of the league season.

A precious three points saw West Ham United draw level with relegation rivals Bolton and draw clear of Sunderland and Fulham at the base of the table.
