Arnautovic, Evra and Hugill delight fans at Stadium Store signing

Hundreds of West Ham United supporters flocked to the Stadium Store in Stratford on Wednesday to meet first team players Marko Arnautovic, Patrice Evra and Jordan Hugill.

The trio from David Moyes's side were joined by West Ham Ladies pair Cara Connatser and Ellie Zoepfl at London Stadium, where the five players signed autographs and posed for photos with the loyal Hammers following.

For this season's top scorer Arnautovic, the event was an opportunity for the Austrian to give a little back to the fans that have given him so much love since joining the team last summer.

The 28-year-old proved immensely popular with the supporters in attendance, and Arnautovic has thanked them for accepting him into the West Ham family.

"Events like this mean a lot," Arnautovic said: "It gives the fans the opportunity to come and see us and get some signatures and pictures. I think it's very good for the fans but it's also good for us.

I want to give everything back to the fans. All I can do for them, I will. The fans are a huge part of our game and I love that they support us.

"As I've always said, it wasn't easy at the start for me. The fans expected a lot from me but I think I've turned it around, and now I want to give everything back to the fans. All I can do for them, I will. The fans are a huge part of our game and I love that they support us."

Evra moved to West Ham in February and has already felt the support for the Irons in full force, and the Frenchman was delighted to come and spend time with the fans.

Evra said: "This is important. Sharing some smiles and give some happiness to the kids and the fans is really important. At the end of the day, we are playing for them, so they deserve your time and even just being nice, having a chat and taking some pictures."

The defender revealed his philosophy for giving back to supporters was installed in him by his former boss, Sir Alex Ferguson, during his time at Manchester United.

"When I was playing for Manchester United, stuff like this was really important for Sir Alex. After a training session on a tour we got onto the bus. He came onto the bus and said 'get off this bus and make sure you sign every shirt!' I agree with him on this. The fans help you a lot."

Goodmove.co.uk Women's Cup winners were also in attendance in Ladies stars Connatser and Zoepfl, with the duo more than happy to talk about their journey with Karen Ray's side.

Connatser admitted her love for interacting with supporters, recalling memories of talking with her footballing idols growing up.

The goalkeeper said: "I live for this. We would not be where we are at without the fans and without their support. Just to come out and meet them, with them taking time out of their day to come and see us, is just awesome.

"We are here because of them so it's right that we come and take time to interact with them. I can speak for all here when I say we've all been there. I remember being five or six years old and wanting to get an autograph or picture with my favourite player, so to be able to do that back for these fans is awesome."
