Terry Westley took a youthful West Ham U23 side to Billericay Town's AGP Arena to face Portuguese giants Benfica in the Premier League International Cup, with the visitors running out 2-0 winners.
Schoolboy Josh Okotcha made his U23 debut at centre-back, striking up a promising partnership with Ben Wells, while fellow 15-year-old Will Greenidge made his first start for Westley's side.
Both goals for Benfica came from 24-year old Brazilian Alan Oliveira, but the game will have provided invaluable experience for the young Hammers moving forward in their development.
