Our daily look at the West Ham United stories in the news...

The main talk in this morning's newspapers was around Olivier Giroud's future at Arsenal.

The Sun say the Gunners will allow the Frenchman to move on after he expressed a desire to play more first team football next term.

Picking up that strand, the Daily Star reckon Giroud would like to stay in London and that talks have begun over a move to London Stadium.

Meanwhile, the Express believe the Hammers are at the front of the queue for Manchester United defender Chris Smalling, with £12m said to be the asking price.

Another name to add to the rumour list is Brentford striker Jota, with Sky Sports reporting that West Ham, Everton and Newcastle have all expressed an interest in the Spaniard.

Finally, the Daily Mail say West Ham will have to pay £7.87m to secure KAS Eupen's Henry Onyekuru.
