A New Year's message from David Sullivan

David Sullivan

Happy New Year to all the Hammers across the globe, and particularly the supporters who made the trip to Leicester City yesterday.

After three wins on the bounce our luck ran out at the King Power Stadium despite an excellent performance. There was very little between the two sides on the day, and I think we all left the East Midlands wondering how we didn't at least come back with a point.

Lets hope lady luck returns for our massive home matches against two of the countries most decorated sides, Manchester United and Manchester City.

With London Stadium packed for both matches we know that our supporters  can be the 12th man, lifting the team after yesterday's defeat and roaring them onto a performance and result to kick 2017 off with a bang.

Our new home was built for fixtures like Monday night and I truly believe that if our form continues its current trajectory we can come away with something.

The side has just 48 hours to recover from yesterday's game and the role of the supporters will be absolutely vital to drive the boys on to the kind of performance we all want to see.

Whilst the game is sold out, there are a very small number of tickets being sold by season ticket holders who cannot make the game via the Ticket Exchange, so if you haven't already secured yours, make sure you do today by clicking here.

I believe 2017 will be another massive year for the Club, as we look to continue to climb the table and settle into our new home.

Our first challenge will be the January transfer window of course, and I can assure you all that there is already lots of work going on behind the scenes to get some positive deals across the line.

Finally, I just want to wish all our players travelling to the African Cup of Nations 2017 after tomorrow's game the very best of luck with their countries. While we are very disappointed to lose them, we understand that representing your country is an important honour, and it gives other player the opportunity to step up and show us what they can do.

Thank you for all your support in 2016, and here's to an even better 2017 for all of us!

Come on your Irons!
