Swansea City 2-1 West Ham United

Sean Adarkwa

West Ham United ended the game with nine men as they fell to a 2-1 U18 Premier League Southern Division defeat at Swansea City.

Sean Adarkwa (pictured) scored for the Hammers at the Swans' Fairwood Academy complex, but red cards were shown to Jay Mingi and Kristijan Belic as Steve Potts' youngsters were edged out in South Wales.

The home side, who themselves recorded a fourth consecutive league win, went ahead before half time through Mason Jones-Thomas' goal, and the same player doubled Swansea’s advantage minutes into the second half.

The Swans had limited West Ham’s chances for the most part but the visitors did hit back when striker Sean Adarkwa found space in front of goal to beat Alex Lang.

West Ham goalkeeper Daniel Jinadu made saves from Joe Lewis and Oli Cooper before frustrations boiled over before the final whistle. Cameron Evans was given his march orders for Swansea, while Mingi and Belic were sent-off for West Ham to compound a disappointing result.

West Ham United: Jinadu, Hannam, Ngakia (Diallo 67), Dalipi, Mingi, Watson (Parkes 78), Okotcha, Belic, Lewis, Adarkwa, Da Rosa
Subs not used: Sanneh, Ashby, Forson
