Born in Norwich on this date in 1987, Chris Cohen joined West Ham United at the age of six, beginning his professional career ten years later in the summer of 2003.

Highly-rated as a youngster, the left-sided Cohen made his debut as a 16-year-old in the 3-2 Division One victory over Sunderland at the Boleyn Ground in December 2003 - making him the youngest player to appear for the club in 80 years.

Cohen would go on to make a further 21 first-team appearances for the Hammers, but started just four matches for the club. Despite his promise, the talented player found his opportunities limited following West Ham's promotion to the Premier League for the 2005/06 season.

As a result of his lack of action, Cohen decided to join League One side Yeovil Town on a month-long loan in November 2005. The deal was extended in January 2006 and the player eventually signed for the Huish Park outfit on a permanent basis in the summer of that year.

Cohen's form for the Somerset club attracted the attention of Nottingham Forest, who signed him on a four-year contract in July 2007. Since then, he has made more than 70 appearances for the former European Cup winners.

A terrible winter meant West Ham United had not taken to the pitch for more than a month when Manchester United arrived at the Boleyn Ground for an eagerly-anticipated FA Cup fifth round tie on this day in 1986.

Just three minutes into the game, Manchester United and England captain Bryan Robson was forced off in agony after dislocating his shoulder - the same injury that would force him out of the World Cup in Mexico just three months later.

Things got worse for the visitors on 25 minutes when Frank McAvennie converted Tony Cottee's cross to put West Ham a goal up. However, the wounded visitors forced a replay when Frank Stapleton headed Mike Duxbury's centre past Phil Parkes with just 17 minutes remaining.

West Ham would go on to triumph 2-0 in the replay at Old Trafford four days later, only for their FA Cup dreams to be shattered by Sheffield Wednesay in the quarter-finals.
