Tall, quick and blessed with a keen eye for goal, Dylan Tombides made great strides in his first season as a full-time scholar in 2010/11.

Born in Australia, the Australia U17 international was snapped up by West Ham United after his family moved to England when he was a young teenager.

After impressing for the Hammers at youth and reserve-team levels, Tombides was named on the bench for the final Barclays Premier League fixture of the 2010/11 season against Sunderland.

2012/13

Made his West Ham United debut as a late substitute in the 4-1 home Capital One Cup third-round defeat by Wigan Athletic on 25 September 2012.

2010/11

Signed on as a full-time scholar in summer 2010...Named in the matchday squad for the FA Cup fifth-round win over Burnley, but was not named among the substitutes...Named as a substitute for the Barclays Premier League home fixture with Sunderland on 22 May 2011...Totalled 12 Barclays Premier Reserve League appearances, nine of them starts, and scored three goals...Netted twice in a 3-2 home Barclays Premier Reserve League win over Arsenal on 2 March 2011...Totalled 20 FA Premier Academy League appearances, 13 of them starts, and scored five goals...Totalled 32 appearances at all levels, 22 of them starts, and scored eight goals...Named Academy Player of the Year by Academy Director Tony Carr MBE.

International career

Capped by Australia at U16 and U17 levels...Appeared for Australia U17 in a four-team mini tournament in England in August 2010...Named in Australia's squad for the 2011 FIFA U17 World Cup in Mexico in June 2011...Scored three goals in two FIFA U17 World Cup warm-up victories over Canada and Uruguay...Netted the winner in Australia's FIFA U17 World Cup Group F victory over Ivory Coast in Guadalajara, Mexico on 20 June 2011.
