FT - West Ham United 1-2 Southampton

Spiegel comes up for a corner, which skims off a West Ham head and out of play.

91: A bursting run from Lee into the box looks set to round off an impressive comeback. The move breaks down after referee Betts rules Lee has fouled Debayo.

90: GOAL! Adrian scores following superb work from Lletget. A calm, composed finish into the far corner.

Into the last few minutes here at the Boleyn. Three minutes of injury time to be played.

85: Fresh legs for the visitors as Rowe, arguably man of the match, comes off for a well deserved rest. Dan Demkiv replaces him.

From the ensuing corner, yet another goalmouth scramble, which the Saints clear at the third attempt.

There's a pattern emerging here. Lletget down the right, feeds Adrian who cuts a neat pass across the six yard box.

81: Good work again down the right flank from Lletget. He keeps on running at left-back yet his deep cross narrowly evades everyone.

80: Into the last 10 minutes. Fatigue beginning to kick in now.

A long kick upfield from keeper Spiegel falls nicely for Lee who takes the shot early forcing a smart save from Cropper.

75: It's that man again. Adrian shoots just wide following good work from Lletget.

73: What a way to introduce yourself that would have been!

72: And of course, as I've just said that, Adrian fires a rocket from the edge of the area, which beats everyone but the crossbar.

70: After the early bright start from the home side in the second half, the game has somewhat taken a breather.

67: Well taken corner from Bywater as it puts the Saints keeper under a lot pressure right on the goalline. The resulting goal mouth scramble is somehow hacked away into touch.

66: The forward Adrian is on for Fanimo. The Spanish born Pole is making his debut for the Development Squad tonight.

64: Bywater is booked for a show of dissent, after being adjudged to have fouled Hesketh.

62: Kieran Sadlier with a fierce shot 10 yards out on the left hand side of the box. From the resulting corner Oxford almost prods home from 5 yards.

Bywater tries a shot from 40 plus yards, it had the power yet ends up a few yards wide of the right-hand post.

57: A whipped free-kick from Bywater is headed on by Lee which loops up for keeper Cropper to catch comfortably on his goal line.

54: The Hammers have started much brighter in this second half, yet they have nothing to show for their efforts. Lee plays an inviting square ball across the box which is just ahead of the on rushing midfielders.

53: Rowe breaks down the left wing and attempts a through-ball which Manny clears for a throw in.

The Hammers again come close following a corner, Josh Cullen dribbles in and around the box yet Cropper eventually collects the ball.

48: Saints winger Rowe fires in a dangerous cross yet, which is cleared by Manny.

47: Elliot Lee almost makes the most of a short backpass, however Saints keeper Cropper slides to clear the danger.

46: Impressive start from the Hammers as right-back Westley goes close with a fierce shot.

46: The teams are back out for the second half, awaiting referee Betts whistle.

45: Half-time here at the Boleyn Ground, where the Hammers have a two-goal deficit to overturn. Rowe's opener was well taken, but no doubt far too simple for coach Haycock's liking. Seager then took full advantage of a goalmouth scramble to put daylight between the sides and West Ham will have it all to do after the interval.

43: Flanagan's challenge on Fanimo is a crude one and earns a first yellow card of proceedings. Lee takes charge of a promising-looking free-kick, 25 yards from goal and in a central position. He gets it up and over the wall alright, but it's straight at Saints 'keeper Cropper, who gathers into his midriff.

41: Lletget is twisting and turning on the by-line and wriggles his way into the box. Just as he looks to pick a pass, however, he's bundled to the ground.  Betts is unmoved, as is his assistant and the Saints come away with it.

39: West Ham continue to look to unlock the Saints defence and Fanimo tries to release Lee in behind. Sadly, his ball down the inside right channel has far too much on it and skips off the turf and away from Lee.

37: We've an early change here for the hosts as Turgott is withdrawn, replaced by Kieran Sadlier, who has this week been called up by Republic of Ireland U21s for the second time.

35: Goal. Goalscorer turns provider as the hosts fail to deal with Rowe's right-wing corner. It falls kindly to Ryan Seager who blasts high into Spiegel's net from little more than six yards.

32: Off the line! Bywater's corner is fizzed toward the far stick where the heads go up. It falls to Lee eight yards from goal whose volley, on the turn, is headed off the line! Decent effort and the defending, in fairness, is every bit as good.

Debayo upends Turgott in ugly fashion and though Lee Betts has words with the full-back, he escapes a first caution of the evening.

29: We've a brief stoppage here as goalscorer Rowe receives treatment over on the far side, with both sides take the opportunity to grab a quick drink. Rowe, meanwhile, is back on his feet and looks fine to continue.

27: At the other end, Flannigan feeds McQueen but he rather slashes at it from 20 yards and his effort sails high over Spiegel's crossbar and into the Bobby Moore Stand.

25: Not much in the way of goalmouth action in the last few minutes, as West Ham bid to find a route back into this one. Meanwhile, Lletget feeds Page down the left, who in turn lays it off to Fanimo, who can't take it in his stride and the Saints regain possession.

22: The visitors work it out to Sims on the left-hand side, who cuts inside onto his left foot but rather scuffs his effort and Spiegel is comfortably down to his left to gather at the near post.

20: Fanimo collects midway inside the opposition half and has a dig from 20 yards. It's well struck but fizzes a yard or two over Cody Cropper's crossbar.

Josh Debayo takes up the running for the Saints, haring down the left flank in ominous fashion. Reece Oxford tries to intervene and must just have got a touch, with the linesman signalling for a corner. Spiegel's punch from the resulting set-piece doesn't have a great deal of distance on it, but the Hammers clear all the same.

16: Turgott remains in the thick of it as he drives towards the box. He looks to pick out Lee, but the Hammers No9 collides with the centre-half and the ball bobbles away from West Ham's frontman.

13: Here goes Blair again, this time he has the beating of the full-back but is stopped in his tracks, unfairly says the referee. Fanimo takes the free-kick and whips in a devilish ball from the right. It's bouncing perilously in and around the Saints' six-yard box but Lletget is unable to force it over the line. Lucky escape that, for the Saints.

11: Blair Turgott has it on the far side, but his attempted cross is deflected en route to the box and is then comfortably heaved away from goal.

8: Goal. No mistake this time from Rowe as the Hammers are cut open. Sam McQueen's through ball is perfect for the onrushing Rowe, who takes a touch before slotting firmly to Spiegel's left. Nothing the stopper could do about that one. Cool finish.

What a hit that is. The ball falls to Omar Rowe some 25 yards from goal and he volleys a fine strike goalward. Spiegel is airbound but fortunately Rowe's strike flies into the side-netting.

5: The Saints are looking to make headway down the Hammers' left here, but no joy thus far. A hopeful ball is crashed towards the area and West Ham have no difficulty clearing. Not much happening for the visitors yet.

2: At the other end, the Hammers go close to breaking the deadlock! Sebastian Lletget is played in down the left and he looks up to find the waiting Elliot Lee in the box. He sidefoots goalwards from 12 yards, but there's a Southampton boot in the way and the Saints are able to clear their lines.

18:57pm: It's the Saints who get us off and running and they're immediately on the attack. After some pinball in the Hammers box it falls kindly for Josh Sims whose whipped effort drifts beyond the far post.
