Dev Squad set for Braintree test

The Development Squad will take on Hammers legend Alan Devonshire's Braintree Town on Tuesday evening in their latest pre-season test.

The U21s have enjoyed a fruitful summer to date, defeating senior non-league sides Havant & Waterlooville and Sutton United, as well as taking the honours in the Absolute Sports Travel Cup, which featured U23 teams from Shakhtar Donetsk and Espanyol.

Now they will take on Skrill Premier Braintree, who are managed by Devonshire and finished an agonising three points outside the play-offs last season.

They are sure to offer a stern test for the Hammers' youngsters, whose preparation for the new Barclays U21 Premier League season continues.

Kick-off at Cressing Road is at 7.45pm, with admission priced at £10 adults, £7 OAPs, £5 U16s and £3 U11s.
