Mediawatch - 22 July

The stories linking the Hammers to Croatian defender Ivan Strinic persist in today's newspapers, with the Metro carrying a report that Croatian newspaper Vecerinji List is claiming the player is due in London for a medical.

Focusing on players already with the Hammers, skipper Kevin Nolan tells the Sun (£) that a fit Andy Carroll and Mauro Zarate will have a hugely positive impact on the Hammers' season.

West Ham continue to prepare for their opening game of the Football United tour in New Zealand and James Collins has been talking to NZ radio station Newstalk in this report.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail say that Manchester United have offered a trial to Academy player Oscar Borg, while the Hammers have offered Reece Oxford an improved contract to try and beat off interest from Arsenal.
