Crystal Palace 3-3 West Ham United
5 May 1998
West Ham United were en route to an eighth place Premier League finish when they travelled south of the river to take on Crystal Palace in the penultimate fixture of the 1997/98 campaign.
It proved to be a real thriller as the sides shared six goals. The Hammers took a fourth minute lead when Frank Lampard's run towards goal was only ended by a tackle from Sasa Curcic, which ended up in his own net.
But Palace hit back through a Marcus Bent chip, and then Simon Rodger's first time effort from the edge of the area put his side 2-1 up.
It got even better for the hosts when Attilio Lombardo finished coolly for 3-1, but the Hammers were not finished and came roaring back in a rousing finale.
Manny Omoyinmi got the comeback going in the 68th minute, and although David Unsworth was sent off with two minutes to play, West Ham still managed to level up thanks to Omoyinmi's second.
