Brown double continues U18s run

The Under-18s made it three wins in a row as Jordan Brown's double saw off Aston Villa on Saturday.

Steve Potts' side are on a fine run of form, stretching all the way back to September, having now triumphed in eleven of their last 14 Barclays U18 Premier League fixtures.

They left it late on this occasion, as Brown struck with just three minutes to go to see off the spirited challenge of the Villans.

Following a 3-1 win over the same opposition at home in November, this three-point haul kept the Hammers in third place, hot on the heels of top two Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur.

Brown ensured the visitors would go into the break holding the advantage, as he netted with 20 minutes on the clock.

But Villa came fighting back in the second period and levelled the scores on 70 minutes when Thomas Strain bagged an equaliser

Hammers keeper Sam Howes then had to save a penalty from the same player to keep the scores level, and the value of his stop became clear at the death when Brown's eighth goal of the season took the points back to London.

West Ham are back in action this coming Saturday when they host Reading at Little Heath. Kick-off is at 11am.

West Ham United: Howes; Linley (Elsom 83), Onariase, Pask, Borg; Nasha, Pike; Amoo (Powell 77), Cullen, Parfitt-Williams; Brown
