West Ham United 6-1 Plymouth Argyle
5 February 1955
West Ham United continued their fine scoring form against Plymouth Argyle back in 1955, with John Dick again proving a thorn in the opposition's side.
The striker had bagged a hat-trick as the Hammers beat Bristol Rovers 4-2 in their last outing before notching a brace against the Pilgrims.
Dave Sexton had scored in a 1-1 draw between the sides in the reverse fixture earlier in the season and he was on hand again to score three times as the home side enjoyed a day to remember.
There was also a goal for Les Bennett - one of only two league goals he would score in the season - to cap a big win in front of the Boleyn Ground crowd.
