West Ham United 2-1 Millwall
4 February 2012
The Hammers battled to a victory over local rivals Millwall on this day in 2012, despite playing almost the entire game with ten men.
Captain Kevin Nolan saw red for a lunge on Jack Smith after just nine minutes of the encounter which saw West Ham move to the top of the league.
Despite their numerical disadvantage the home side went in ahead at the break as Carlton Cole nodded the ball past David Forde from a couple of yards out.
Liam Trotter equalised for the Lions with 66 minutes on the clock but the Hammers were not to be denied and had three points to savour when Winston Reid volleyed the ball home from the edge of the box.
