Pair treat fans on Hammereen!

It might have been Halloween, but to West Ham United supporters visiting the club store in Lakeside Thurrock on Thursday, there were more treats than tricks as they met Winston Reid and Guy Demel.

The two defenders took time out after training to meet fans young and old to sign autographs, chat and pose for photographs at the special half-term event.

Some youngsters had their faces painted especially for Halloween and were more than happy to show them off to Reid and Demel as they caught up with the players.

Supporters, many queuing since earlier in the day, were busy snapping up shirts, footballs, calendars and other Hammers-themed gifts in-store and getting them signed by Reid and Demel for Christmas presents for family and friends.

Good luck messages for the players ahead of Saturday's home clash against Aston Villa - which is set to be another sell-out at the Boleyn Ground - were appreciated by both players.

Hammer of the Year Reid said: "It's always enjoyable meeting the fans and everyone is looking forward to the game on Saturday and wishing us the best, we know how much they get behind us, so to meet with them at events like this is great.

"Hopefully we can make it a really good week for our fans and everyone at the Club after the draw last Sunday away at Swansea and the cup win at Burnley, with three points against Villa at the weekend."

And Demel was equally pleased to see the fans, who he said have been top class in their support of the team again this season.

"It is one of the ways we can say thank you to our fans for the incredible way they support us, meeting them and signing autographs. I think there will be a lot of West Ham gifts in many homes this Christmas!

"For us now, we concentrate on the game ahead against Aston Villa and the fans we met here and all of those who will attending the match on Saturday, we know they will be willing us to win and hopefully we can do just that."

The previous day, on Wednesday, fellow Hammers Joey O'Brien and Mohamed Diame met fans at the Club's Liberty Romford store, signing Hammers goodies, all of which can be found in-store, online and in the three shops - Liberty Romford, Lakeside Thurrock and the Stadium Store.
