Promising West Ham United striker Elliot Lee has joined Sky Bet League One side Colchester United on loan until Saturday 23 November.
The 18-year-old forward has been in prolific form yet again this season, scoring five goals in six Barclays U21 Premier League appearances.
Lee's form saw him handed a Barclays Premier League debut as a substitute in the 1-0 home defeat by Stoke City on 31 August - following his first-team bow in the FA Cup third-round replay at Manchester United in January this year.
At U21 level, the Durham-born youngster bagged a hat-trick in a thrilling 5-4 victory at Newcatle United in September, while he also netted twice in the opening-day win over Aston Villa in August. He also started the first-team's pre-season match at Colchester in July.
Last season, Lee netted seven goals in 18 Development Squad appearances, while also bagging seven times in eight appearances for the U18s.
Colchester sit 14th in the League One table, having collected 12 points from as many matches. After winning their opening two league matches, the U's have drawn six and lost four of their last ten games.
Lee will hope to boost an attack that has scored just eleven goals in those 12 matches - four of which have been netted by former West Ham player Freddie Sears.
The teenager could make his Colchester debut in Tuesday's League One trip to Shrewsbury Town. He could also feature in home games against Peterborough United and Swindon Town and away matches at Rotherham United and Preston North End.
