Winston Reid's New Zealand suffered a blow in the build-up to their FIFA World Cup Qualification play-off when they were defeated 2-0 by United Arab Emirates in their final of the OSN Cup on Monday.

The All Whites reached the final of the four-team tournament in Saudi Arabia by beating the hosts last week, but Reid was unable to celebrate the occasion of his 16th cap as Rickie Herbert's men came up short.

Monday was a more successful evening on the international scene for Raphael Spiegel, however, as the young Hammers goalkeeper helped Switzerland U21s register a 6-0 win over Liechtenstein in the qualifying tournament for the 2015 European U21 Championships.

Remarkably, the score was still 0-0 with 27 minutes left to play, but the Swiss ran riot in the game's final third to make it two wins from two, following Thursday's victory over Latvia.

Jack Collison and Razvan Rat are set for international action on Tuesday, with Collison's Wales taking on Serbia and Rat's Romania facing Turkey in their latest FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
