On this day - 29 August

Classic match

Burnley 3-3 West Ham United
Division One
29 August 1967

Ron Greenwood's West Ham United played out an entertaining draw with Burnley on this day 46 years ago.

The Hammers had already taken on Burnley once that campaign - triumphing 4-2 at the Boleyn Ground - so with this match ending 3-3, the goals certainly flowed when these sides met.

All three of West Ham's World Cup heroes - Martin Peters, Bobby Moore and Geoff Hurst - were on target at Turf Moor, just as Peters and Hurst were in the Boleyn Ground match a week earlier.

This was West Ham's fourth game of the season, during which they had scored ten and conceded 13!

Inconsistent form would remain a feature of the Hammers' play that campaign, as they finished in twelfth place.
