West Ham United supporters flocked to the club's Liberty Romford store on Wednesday afternoon to meet Hammers stars Ricardo Vaz Te and Razvan Rat.

The pair were in store to chat, sign autographs and pose for photographs with fans young and old as well as promote the new Hammers away kit.

Vaz Te, fresh from his spectacular free-kick in Tuesday night's 2-1 home win over Cheltenham Town in the Capital One Cup, was only too happy to sign everything from shirts to pennants. Rat, who made his Boleyn Ground debut in the cup clash, was also kept busy signing footballs and other official merchandise bought by fans in the store on the day.

Vaz Te said he enjoyed the buzz of meeting the fans, many of whom are enjoying the final few days of their school summer holidays.

"It is always great to meet our fans," said the No12. "They are very special to us all at the club and this is a nice way of chatting to them, signing autographs and hopefully helping them have a nice day.

"They were very nice to me and Razvan. They were congratulating me on my goal against Cheltenham which was nice and it is something we can give back, spending time with our supporters like this."

And Rat was also delighted with the warm welcome he received from the supporters he met.

"This is my first time meeting so many of our fans since I arrived at the club. So it was good and they were saying how pleased they were to have us here.

"At my last club, Shakhtar Donetsk, we met the fans like this in our club stores and it was a good way to interact with everyone. I look forward to playing in front of our fans this season and having their good support."

An array of shirts, pennants, footballs and autograph books were among the most popular items being snapped up by fans who patiently queued to see the players and conversations, showing how excited supporters were about the strong start to the season.
