One-time West Ham United player Peter Eustace today celebrates his 69th birthday.

The Yorkshire native began his career in his home county with Sheffield Wednesday and made 192 league appearances before being transferred to the Boleyn Ground for a £90,000 fee in 1970.

A midfielder who both made and scored goals, Eustace turned out in 43 Division One games for the Club and found the net on six occasions.

He was loaned to Rotherham United before linking back up with Sheffield Wednesday in 1972 and he would spend a further three years at Hillsborough before ending his playing days with spells at Peterborough United and Worksop Town.

A third spell with Sheffield Wednesday followed as manager between 1988-89, and he also took the reins at Leyton Orient in the early 1990s.

After leaving football, Eustace worked as a pub landlord in Hope, Derbyshire.
