West Ham United Community Sports Trust are pleased to announce their latest partnership with Capita Education Resourcing.
Their collaboration will see the launch of an innovative summer school programme aimed at helping disadvantaged students in London and Essex make the leap from primary to secondary school.
Running throughout July and August 2013, the summer scheme is to include a mix of interactive physical and intellectual activities.
The Trust are to give students an opportunity to make friends, meet their teachers and familiarise themselves with their new surroundings, prior to starting the new school year.
Football development officer Bryan Glover told whufc.com: "We're delighted to be working with Capita, a relationship that enables us to provide high quality sports provision to students across London and Essex.
"We all know that starting secondary school can be a daunting experience but, with these summer programmes, we hope to make the transition that bit easier.
"We have designed a detailed programme aimed at developing each individual's sporting ability and knowledge within a structured and fun environment.
"Participants in this year's programme are certain to acquire new skills but, equally, will enjoy the activities and experiences that the programme has to offer."
Head of Capita Summer schools Steve Martin is every bit as enthused with the partnership.
"Capita Education Resourcing is proud to be working with West Ham United Community Sports Trust," he said. "We think and hope that this will be the highlight of the students' summers and something that they are looking forward to attending."
