Big Sam to attend Cork function

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce will be a guest speaker at a special function in Cork on Saturday evening.

The Hammers boss is sure to be in top form at the event, which is being held ahead of the pre-season meeting with League of Ireland Premier Division side Cork City on Sunday.

Big Sam will be joined on stage at the SilverSprings Moran Hotel by former Cork Celtic and Cork Hibernians player Carl Davenport and MC Trevor Welch, with guests sure to enjoy an evening full of entertainment.

Davenport is a Cork football legend who later coached under Big Sam at Bolton Wanderers, while Welch is a popular commentator and presenter on Irish television and radio.

The function, which will take place ahead of Sunday's Cork Airport Summer Friendly fixture at Turner's Cross, will include a four-course dinner and sparkling wine reception from 7.30pm.

For Irish-based Hammers, tickets are on sale from the Cork City club shop in Douglas Village Shopping Centre and from the club office in Bishopstown, and are priced at €55 per person or €500 for a table of ten.

For fans travelling to Ireland for the match seeking further information, please contact Cork City Chief Executive Tim Murphy on 00353879575362 or tmurphy@corkcityfc.ie

Tickets for Sunday's match, which could see summer signings Adrian, Razvan Rat and Danny Whitehead make their West Ham bows, are available for purchase here.
