West Ham United Under-13s continued their footballing development and education by taking on their counterparts from Czech Republic club Sigma Olomouc.
The Hammers hosted Sigma at Chadwell Heath, where the two teams contested a keenly-fought match that ended in a 3-0 victory for the visitors.
The match was organised by former West Ham goalkeeper Ludek Miklosko, who is now working for Sport Invest International, the biggest football agency in Czech Republic, and his colleague with Michael Hollands.
The fixture offered both sets of players a different type of test by playing against a side from a different European country, bringing about a contrast in styles and approaches to how the game should be played..
During their stay in London, the Sigma squad stayed at the West Ham United Hotel at the Boleyn Ground. The Czech youngsters did some sightseeing around London and also played two other friendly matches against Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham.
Sigma has a reputation in its homeland for producing talented young players, with former Hammers and Czech international midfielder Radoslav Kovac, Galatasarary defender Tomas Ujfalusi and former Newcastle United centre-back David Rozehnal among those to have come through the club's Academy.
