West Ham United Ladies will complete their 2012/13 campaign with a prestige friendly against Charlton Women on Thursday evening.

The Hammers will travel across the River Thames to take on the Addicks at The Valley, with kick-off at 7pm.

Charlton Women compete in the FA Women's Premier League National Division - a level higher than the Hammers - and lifted the London FA Women's Senior Cup this season.

West Ham will come across a familiar face when they make the short trip to south east London, with former Hammers striker Gemma Shepherd set to be named up front for Charlton.

Shepherd has scored 28 goals this season following a summer switch from West Ham, continuing the prolific form she previously showed in a claret and blue shirt.

She said: "It's going to be a bit strange because I was there for about five years but I'm looking forward to it.

"I get to see old faces and hopefully they can see that I've moved on and the reasons why I moved. Hopefully we can put in a good performance.

"It's just fantastic that we get to [play at The Valley] because not a lot of people can say they've at certain stadiums. It's nice to have a check-list of places you've played at."

West Ham will be without regular No1 goalkeeper Toni-Anne Wayne, who suffered cracked ribs and bruising after colliding with the goalpost in Sunday's 3-2 Southern Division defeat at champions Reading.

Admission to Thursday's friendly at The Valley will be charged at just £3 for Adults and £1 for Concessions.
