Higgins Group PLC, who operate throughout Greater London and the South East on residential, community, and educational projects, have been backing the Hammers for generations.

Now, as we celebrate the ninth year of a 10-year deal signed back in 2004, we caught up with Higgins director Bryan Sabin to find out more about the their recent work as the official sponsor of the Community Sports Trust and their love for the club.

"We're seen amongst our peers in the construction industry and our clients as a West Ham company," said Bryan Sabin.

"It actually used to be a question we would ask at interviews, 'Do you support West Ham?' If you said yes you got the job!" joked Sabin.

"Our founder Derek Higgins OBE was a lifelong season ticket holder and Richard Higgins, his eldest son and the current chair of Higgins Group is also a firm West Ham fan.

"We have the benefit of a high profile sporting partner and a lot of the work we do is in the regeneration of disadvantaged estates across London. Having a relationship with a Premier League football club has allowed us to promote ourselves alongside the West Ham name.

"Kids on the estate love football and it gets the communities on board. That was the driving force behind why we wanted to enter into the arrangement all those years ago.

"One of the key schemes we've been involved in with West Ham in the community is the new St John's Secondary School in Epping. We introduced the club to the project very early on, when then-manager Alan Curbishley and a few of the players paid a visit to meet the children. It was fantastic and it allowed us to push through the proposed construction programme.

"The West Ham Community coaches have been heavily involved at the school since, running coaching sessions and activities and there has always been a West Ham presence at any events that have been organised. It's probably been the shining light of the partnership that we have."
